Based on Paul Osborne's Plunger illusion, this improved prop is themed Oriental but can actually be made to look like an old chest, a crate or a mysterious looking Egyptian ark.

In performance, the magician displays a small box resting on a thin table. He opens the top lids and, using a set of small front steps, he climbs into the box as assistants close the top lids. His hands pop out of two holes in the top proving he is, in fact, within the box. The steps are wheeled off stage as another assistant comes on stage with a long Bamboo stick. The stick is positioned on the side of the box and the side is slowly pushed in up to the location of the moving hands. Quickly, the hands retreat within the box as the side is pushed in all the way to the other side of the box, leaving all but of a few inches. Where has he gone? There is no space for hiding. Moving to the other side of the box, the assistants push the side back into position. The lids fly open as a beautiful assistant pops up and points to the audience. As a surprise to all, the magician appears running down the aisle!

You get the full building and performance details along with a tutorial on working with and modifying roller shades that is easily worth the price of the plan.

Paul Osborne illusion plans are conceived with the builder, collector and performer in mind. We outline the working, construction and performing of each illusion. All plans are drawn on 15" x 20" paper using US Standard measurements, easily converted to metric measurements using a metric conversion chart. These are real prints and, because they are drawn to scale, any measurement can be verified with an architect's scale.

We feel that our plans look equally at home on your workshop bench or your magic library.
